Lego my ego: Maps show mitigation data

My obsession with lego art continues in this repost from my beloved Geekologie.

Using legos to create maps that show mitigation data, is so colorful and interpretive. Cartography is such an interesting science that has fascinated artist for centuries. Using legos, a classic children's toy, as a building block not only creates a retrospect of the toy, but plays with contemporary ideas such as 3-D versions of traditionally flattened images. With so much art being dependent on computer generated graphic elements, this is a refreshing use of sculptural elements with a practical application.

The question of how does function meet form, and whether or not something that is useful can be considered art are both addressed in this piece. Other than works made by industrial designers, artists are inclined toward making a statement, but not much else. However in a world where Facebook knows your taste, big brother monitors our every move; there are really no secrets left. It is nice to see someone creating something with data other than intrusive assumptive "personalized ads". Data can be seen as purely numbers of function, but these lego maps presents the data as functional, informal and informative as well as artistically merited.

Wow, it has been slightly less than a year since my last post. My whole life has changed since that post. I moved out of Miami, left behind my job, friends and the sunshine. I am now residing in Philadelphia, PA. Living in seasons, drinking great beer and finding my future to be brighter than ever. The irony of life still rears its ugly head every so often. Despite how much I do not need a distraction, I miss my blog. And you my loyal fans! ha! What to Wear for the Weather

So Jezebel has a blog going about what to wear during an unseasonably hot spring. Living in Miami, I don't have that issue, it is warm all the time and white is appropriate everyday of the year. But I can see the predicament of my NorthEast peers. One girl suggested the site The Weather Stylist.

I thought I would give it a go, and see if it could tell me how to mix up my wardrobe. After entering your city or zip code, it shows the forecast for the rest of the week, and then an "appropriate" outfit for said weather. However I do not believe they take into any account where the hell you actually live. Let's look at an example:

The weather is slated to be about 86 and a chance of precipitation.

According to this I should wear a sweater, jeans and a scarf.

86 in Miami, is a literal 86 and HOT. Not scarf weather by any means.

So I rehash and have them show me another outfit.

Oh this is better. NOT. A sweater, jeans, UGG boots and a knit hat.

86 degrees! I just wanna ask "Really?"

I read this quote on jezebel the other day and thought it was great. I have always thought of myself as a strange person. I do a lot of things that I can not really explain why, or what about them makes me feel good. But continue to do them. I saw outlandish things, and never have never met anyone quite like me. When you are in the age of adolescence these odditys can be the case of teasing and other generally mean behavior, but I think as we age we realize that what's makes people worth knowing is their quirks. However there are those in the world who have yet to ascribe to this theory and remain play ground bullies, with dirty looks and general distaste for the individuals who do not want to be anyone but who they are. To those people I say "Fuck you".

I Yelp Miami

One way I have found to not only meet new and exciting people, but to get to know a city I have lived in for six years was to join the website Yelp. I first learned of the site from my BFF, Ann, on our annual vacation. We downloaded the app to my phone, and I got hooked. The app is great, but the website is greater. Real people writing reviews of everything from restaurants, to hair dressers and grocery stores. After a few weeks of such I was luck enough to become a YELP ELITE, which basically means I rule and my reviews are awesome. But the real perk of this status is the ability to attend the ridiculously awesome parties that the community manager throws. We are talking fire dancers, open bars, exclusive restaurants- my kind of living. So check it out.

This is not your average t-shirt site, this is a site where artist can upload their designs and buyers can vote for designs to be made. Each month there is a winner who shirts are printed and sold on the site. You can buy, vote, submit- or all of the above. They also have designers creating really cool IPhone covers.

This makes for unique shirts you will not find at Urban Outfitters, keep it in mind for a great gift for that fashionable friend.

Ah I have been so neglective of you my little blog. I apologize. With your forgivetivity (we're inventing words this week, okay?) I will show you where I have been.

I have been doing flyer for my book club as a push to get new members. I think it has been working. We read Let the Great World Spin which was a fiction novel based on the very real event of a tightrope walker stringing a cable across the World Trade Center. The novel focuses on the characters living in the city below (NYC in the 70s). Within degrees they cross paths and never realize how much they really are connected. We followed that book with the Lost City of Z. This non fiction narrative tells of one writer's quest to find out what happened to Percy Fawcett, a famous turn of the century explorer who was best know for treking the Amazon in order to map boundaries of South America, all while searching for Z.

I stumbled upon this on WikiHow: How to Make Skittle Vodka. Combining candy and liquor- sign me up.

Basically all you do is separate the skittles by color (flavor) then drop about 5 bags worth of each color into a bottle of Vodka. Let them marinate for a day or two, shaking randomly. They said at the end you should strain out the remaining skittles, but personally I would leave them in there.

Thank god for Jezebel. If it was not for them I would not have stumbled upon Third and Delaware. A blog dedicated to revealing in the fashion the 90s hit television show Roseanne. Staring Roseanna Bar as a trashy, blue collar wife with a flair for the obnoxious. This class comedic sitcom is more then just shitty sets and tacky story lines. It has fashion- ironic and ridiculous (how has this not become a HIPSTER "required watching" yet?) I have a little soft spot for kitchen design and this kitchen counter made completely of Legos touches my little hipster heart. Designers Munchausen, a duo of Parisian designers, used over 20,000 pieces. It is fully functioning and colorful.

I think this design is a great combination of stability and chaos. By working with numerous colors it creates a static design that can bring life to a room while complimenting solid pieces. With something like this there can not be much competition for eyes in the room. I also love the large version of Lego Man's head on the counter behind it.

I might be behind in posting about the awesome-ness of Grizzly Bear, but can I say God Damn they're amazing. I have basically been listening to them anytime I am in my car, and the sun is down. Both albums Yellow House and Veckatimest have an amazing and unique sound. The clarity of their voices and instruments creates an almost creepy but sentimental feeling. Before the release of his album Diamond Dogs, David Bowie released a limited edition piece of jewelry. 500 lightening bolt necklaces to be exact. That was in 1974, and now they are a rarity.( I will know he's my soul mate if instead of a ring he gives me one of them.) Supposedly you can sometimes find them on ebay, but alas I have had no luck.

I would love to be wearing this symbol of Bowie Power any day any time. After doing some brief searches on the internet for this piece of Bowie fanatic jewelry, I realized that it coming into my life, and around my neck will only happen through a moment of kismet. I can envision myself sifting through a bag of costume jewelry at some flea market, during some future road trip, and spitting out my frozen lemonade as I see the lightening bolt cross my pretty little eyes. Of course I will pretend that it is not worth anything so as to buy it for a dollar, rather than the hundreds it is actually worth.

*Sigh* a girl can dream right?

Betsy Johnson... Fashions Finest Funk

I have always loved Betsy Johnson's dresses and ensembles. From my first and still favorite teal, embroidered and beaded slip dress, to my black lace set over violet slip I can not get enough. They make have been hanging in my closet since early high school but they still fit and look fabulous. I can not even walk in her stores without wanting to try on 100 things and buy them all! Her sense of haute fun meets punk sophistication is the perfect combination in this petit fashionista's eyes. Not only are her clothes great, the models walked to a band playing Blondie covers! The sad part: this might be Betsy's last collection before she passes the touch of her line to her assistant. I shall shed a tear when that day comes.

I feel in love with Lush cosmetics in Dubrovnik Croatia. Their little bath boutiques can be found around the world, but are not in most malls by any means. The fresh scent of their stores is enriching for the soul, but you can get the same great products online. Lush is a very special type of store that offers handmade, Vegan and organic bath and body products. My last trip to Lush ended successfully. They had a special where you could try nine products in travel size

bottles for $15. Score! I tried the solid shampoo and conditioners, also a hair treatment, and a number of the soaps, which are all handmade by Lush employees! Their ingredients are listed right on the website for each product so you know exactly what you're getting. Ranging in price from around $7-$30 you definitely get what you pay for. The bars last, shampoos come in large tubs and the fact that they are all natural is worth every penny.

Besides helping yourself smell a little better, you can help the environment. They use the most minimal packaging around, and all the bags or wrapping they do is us biodegradable and recycled. Also Lush cosmetics is removing all Palm Oil, found only in the rainforest and its use contributes not only to the destruction of trees but hurts animals and other inhabitants, from all of its products. And although it is sold out right now they are offering their Limited Edition Jungle Soap with which when purchased:

Disney does New Orleans

Disney's newest fairy tale is set to come out this december. For anyone who doesn't know this will be Disney's first African American princess. Which is like what 50 years late, I mean come on, really Disney... I grew up a short little white girl with a bob haircut, in the suburbs, and even after loving every disney movie I never felt I could related to the long legged, beautiful locked, dainty princesses. There was Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Belle, Cinderella, finally Jasmine the Arab one, but other than that they are racially lacking. I finally found my own Disney soul mate Arial, she was finned, and always causing trouble, even when there wasn't a man involved.(Which is probably an underlying reason I dye my hair red now)

Anyways, The Princess and the Frog is set in my beloved New Orleans, during the jazz era. Just watching the trailer gave me butterflies; riverboats, brass bands on the sidewalk in front of Jackson Square, riding down St Charles in an open air street car! I love it! Set in the 'jazz era' it is only appropriate that the villain is a "witch doctor" who practices voo-doo. As much as this could be seen as somewhat inappropriate, considering this kind of practice is alive today, I think it adds to the charm that is NOLA. There is something magical about it that is kind of dark. Either way I most likely will see this movie in theaters, if only to look at an illustrated version of my favorite city.

The Girlfriend Experience is a film that combines a thought provoking story line with an interesting telling of the story itself. Sasha Gray's performance, as a high class, independently owned and operated, escort is not exactly ground breaking. Her character is not only vacant but un-relatable. A fan of her previous, and less mentally taxing work, I found her to be nothing more than what she appears to be in real life. Her character is not only guarded, but apathetic to everything but fashion. Now whether or not she is really like that would be the deciding factor in reviewing her acting skills.

Her character and her lifestyle present ideas such as how to keep your private and professional life separate when your body and soul are so tangled in the two. Questions of female nature, and the ability to be totally unaffected by sex, and be with a man in a way which seems like love but is not. Questioning how two people who sell themselves (even not relating to being an escort) have anything left to give to someone who actually love them. There are more but those are just some that are brought up through the film.

As far as the film as a whole goes, putting all the pieces together to make the story is the best part. By splicing together all different days in a timeline that gives little insight into each situation before finally showing the conclusion of that specific situation makes this film great. Previous to viewing the film, the director of the theater reminded us to watch Sasha's clothing in order to better follow the timeline of the story.

All in all, I give this film 5.5 stars out of 10. See it if you like Sasha Gray, see it if you just like movies. Don't see it if you are bored easily or get confused a lot.

Putting everything on display isnt always a great thing. But when it comes with the label of Chanel it can't be that bad.

This little dilly debuted earlier this year, but I just came across a picture of it, and remembered "Hey I want that...." Not sure how often I would use this, but the concept is awesome. It is a modern take on a working classic, that has never really been given a feminine take. Usually when you see a girl carrying a briefcase you say to yourself "that bitch looks boring" but if I saw someone walking down the street coffee in hand I would be like "whoa! what was that?" However I question if there is easy access to the purse and your phone because you know I can't miss a call....

Come Sale Away With Me.....

I know that most self respecting alternative types have sworn off our once beloved American Apparel, for reasons that are numerous and valid.

But sometimes you walk past those under of stupidly dressed maniquins and think oooo thats cute. I fell into the trap when in search of the perfect suit something that said "please take me on your yacht" but not in a slutty way. I found that exact feeling in the Nylon Tricot Maillot-V Swimsuit in basic Black of course.

Well after spending what I did consider reasonable on this little beauty of an AA find, I decide to wander onto their site to see what other trends I have been missing out on since my strike was enforced about nine months ago. Low and behold I found something of an AA Miracle, a $5 section. Normal I would suspect this only included XXLs and horrible pieces that I personally would never be caught dead in, but I was pleasantly surprised.

Every thing from terry tanks, to basic Ts, and yoga pants. This is quite a steal if i do say so myself and I will be sure to be hitting up this sale in the near future. Because the only thing better than shopping is Online Shopping. Happy Spending.

Clubmaster Sunglasses! Originally designed by Ray Ban earlier than the 1950s, they have come back in a major way. Anyone who knows me probably knows I have an unexplainable obsession with sunglasses. At the moment the number of pairs I own in unknown. So I am in search of the perfect pair of Clubmaster (which would look amazing riding my nose, as I ride around in my Mini Clubman!)

Ray Ban is a great place to start. I just purchased a pair of polarized tortoise shell wayfarers, so spending that much on a pair of sunglasses will not be happening for quite a while, but it is a great place to study the style and key elements of the shades. These beauties retail for around $140 plus taxes. While available in a variety of colors I think I can do better than that.

Giant Vintage is a website I discovered in one of my many searches for my soul mate shades

They have tons of styles, colors, and pairs that are goofy or classy. This pair seen here is known as the color of Show Pony Purple. While the frames are a beautiful color of gold with unique lenses, this comes down to a question of practicality and eye protection. While looking cool is one thing seeing the whole world in purple might be a drawback. However at $20, I have to quote Bob Barker "The Price is Right!"

Amazon.com is a place that you can find anything and everything. It is great for sunglasses. A

search lead to me finding this great pair. Pink-Gold frames with rose lenses offers a feminine feel to these sometimes masculine lines. They offer many color combination, but unfortunately do not show a picture of each. However if you just scroll down you can see other pages of the same item. These little ditties go for about $10, which is so cheap I could buy two guilt free, a girls gotta have variety.

So after my search here, I am going to keep browsing until I decide to buy a pair, but I think amazon.com is about to win my heart all over again, as it always does. Happy hunting.

Sanrio surreal.

Cue flash back memory music : "Whitney you only have 15 minutes to shop, then you have to pick something!" Standing outside the Sanrio Store at Parkway plaza mall my mom slightly patiently waited for me to choose something. So many characters to pick from. Little did she know I would later run an underground Sanrio trading game at my local playground.

So today inspired by seeing a Japanese women with an adorable Hello Kitty purse I set my sites on the Sanrio website. Low and behold I was over joyed with the reminders of my childhood and the fun of it all. Each character with signature colored pencil sharpners, boxes, backpacks and lunch boxes.

There is nothing like a great comedian and a great music artist getting together to do something silly. I thought the use of Kayne's song in The Hangover was awesome and appropriate. Zach Galifianakis was halirous through out the entire film, and I look forward to seeing more of him in the future

It if funny the things people find themselves infatuated with. One of my many is Barbie doll disfigurement. Now we can talk for days over stale doughnuts and cold coffee about the childhood methods of doll experimentation. However it is after lunch, so we won't go there.

This is a post about the use of this mutilation as a form of art. I once did a found art project consisted of me making the dolls more anatomically correct then making a stop motion porno.

However Margaux Lange has more tact and skill than I. her jewelry is made from different piece of Barbies, everything from their faces to shoes to arms. She notes that the doll was an influentail figure in the development of her creativity and continues to act as a muse. The adornment of the body with the body speaks to using a physical housing of our beings as an object.

I came across this site for a small jewelry designer with some killer taste.Jess LC's pieces are "handmade" and have something very charming about them. Simple, understated elegance meets slightly organic shapes, makes these a great idea for a birthday gift for that girlfriend who deserves a little something. However I do love the more whimsical and colorful side that this collection shows. From diamond birds, to a brooch named "Medussa" that really looks like a jelly fish, it is some what more fun than the usually diamond engagement ring people associate with the infamous jewelry maker. However the price tags that come with these little pieces is far from little,being around $44,000 for a one inch brooch, Tiffany's reminds us, they are not for everyone. So for now I will admire from the other side of my Mac monitor.

The Impossible Project is trying to resurrect the manufacturing of Polaroid Instant Film! The process is so expensive that it caused parent company Polaroid to discontinue the film. These guys bought the machines to produce the film and are trying to find a way to make it more cost efficient. They will be selling the film under a different name and improving the quality etc. Using the original factory and machinery is only one part of the project. they have put together a team that is made up of experts in the analog film industry. I think there should be a website set up where people can upload their scanned Polaroids and share with one another maybe for a slight fee in order to help fund the project. Or maybe there can be some sort of Polaroid Auction where people can upload their polaroids and then auction them off with the proceeds going toward Polaroid Research. So check out their website and see what it is you can do to help!

Be proud that you are a woman (i.e., you have hair) as opposed to a sexually immature girl (who doesn't, naturally) and question this widespread ideal. Why would anyone find hairless females (i.e. little girls) sexually attractive? It's just hair; it hurts no-one.

So here are the steps and tips to becoming an attractive hairy shary

Avoid shaving.(DUH) Stubble is prickly and not as soft as grown hair.
Try to make hair softer. Use hair conditioner on it regularly. If you have shaved, removing hair at the roots will allow hair to grow back looking lighter and softer (if you wish to.)
Brush body hair (I think the brush that came with my Barbies would work perfectly). Body hair looks better smooth, like head hair does. Brush your leg hair down with a damp nail brush if it's looking messy.(I cant go out tonight, I've got messy leg hair)
If you wish, cut hair a little shorter with nail scissors to keep it looking neat and even.
Keep clean. If you don't have time to shower, wash your underarms at the sink with shower gel as you would in the shower, then apply deodorant.(How does this relate?)

A Review of Gran Torino:

Clint Eastwood stars as Walt Kowalski, a Korea Veteran who has a chip on his shoulder to say the very least. After working hard and raising his children in the suburbs of Michigan, which had become a ghetto, his wife dies and he is left alone. Mostly he sits around drinking PBRs while hating on the asians and mexicans who have moved into his neighborhood. During the film he befriends a Humong Boy from next door, through a series of confrontations with his couzins gang. Eastwood uses a lot of guns and phrases like "get off my lawn". Although one of his symbolic gestures of pointing his fingers like a gun and pretending to shoot is kinda cool but only works to fend off gangsters if your fucking Clint Eastwood. Spoiler Alert: Clint Eastwood finds out he is sick, and then the neighbors ( whom he has become "close" with) are beaten, raped and shot at. He knows that they will never be safe until the gang who did this is put down. So in the true fashion of a martyr he goes to the gang house and is killed while reaching for a lighter. Gran Torino is actually a car that Eastwood has in the film, a 72 to be exact. It plays a role of bring Walt and Tao, whom he refers to as Toad, together.

My overall review is a 6 out of 10. It was entertaining, Clint Eastwood was great, not only was he convincing and scary but I felt empathy for him without pity. His gritty hatred of all things asian was off the charts. There were more racial slurs in this movie than I knew existed. Some of that game the film some humor. The Humong characters were not as fine tuned as actors, which I was relieved to read on IMDB that only one had acted before. I guess I had never thought about Asian gangs before, especially in Detroit. The plot presented them well, as far as gangs go. The violence that ensued was enough to be believable without making it look irrational. The cheesy part was watching the relationship development between Tao and Walt. They formed somewhat of a father son bond and Walt was able to move further from his memories of the Korean war and maybe stop hating all asians. This brings Walt from a mean, crotchty old man, to a father looking for someone to share his knowledge with. In the end, he dies for the kid and his sister, which was an appropriate ending for such a film. In the very end he leaves his car to Tao, instead of his spoiled over acting bitch of a grand-daughter.

Final Word: If you like Clint Eastwood, or wanna pick up some new insults: See it.

It seems that by nature, recently, I have been feeling fatigued, bored, and overall limp. Driving has been making me want to decapitate someone, working out seems pointless, and even reading shit on the internet is failing to bring me joy. However it seems to me that these are all feelings that I should and should not be feeling. I found out in November I am getting laid off in January, although I can say this is not a great shock, looking at the economic forecast for free newspapers is nothing more than depressing, however my feelings of sadness are more centered around the fact that I am one of the few people who actually likes their job! So now I am in the process of looking for a new probably only slightly fulfilling, way to pay my bills. Hopefully Ill find something soon.
Despite this bad news life has not been that bad, Im not dying, my rents offered to help me out if need be, so I really dont need to worry about starving. I am trying to recall a reason I have to feel like crawling into my bed and burying myself like a snow rabbit seems like the best option!
Things that are happening that I am happy about include me finally getting my scuba certification! Tomorrow is my last set of dives, and then Im going out for a celebratory (ironice) meal of Sushi, and to a heat game with my alarmingly cute boyfriend. My whole weekend seems to be shaping up to be a lot of fun, fun which includes christmas parties where i get to play dress up, [Im thinking of going for a Gatsby theme], and possibly seeing a movie.

So in conclusion, for the purpose of wrapping up this seemingly pointless post, I am missing something in my life and I intend to find out what that is.

There has been a lot of buzz around Of Montreal's new album Skeletal Lamping, which is sure to bring together the elements that make this band so unique and enjoyable. I personally have not gotten around to downloading it yet (bad hipster!) but I am well aware of the amazing-ness. I have read numerous articles about Kevin Barnes an his contribution of Of Montreal, basically everything. In Paste they compared him to David Bowie, and for anyone that even slightly knows anything about me, they prob know about my Bowie Obsession. So I am one to take the previous statement very seriously, and my judgement: I agree. To an extent. Ways in which he reminds me of The David, are his ability to create a stage persona which is different from his own personality, and through that making shows about more than just the music. Barnes said it himself that "if people just wanted to hear the music they would just listen to the album". I agree with this statement, any time I have seen Of Montreal it is not their music I entirelly look forward to but to see what kinda of antics they will pull this time. From the lobster claw and giant clown box, to coming out of a shaving cream coffin Of Montreal never ceases to excite me.

Best Week Ever

I am going to be having a super busy, super wonderful week. Not only am I starting my scuba class. I am both excited and nervous. I had this bad experience when I was about 14 at summer camp where I flipped out. (Yes I went to a summer camp that had scuba diving..hello Im from Cali). So every monday and wednesday night you can find me at Miami Dade in Kendall getting my certification!

I am going to be attending the Wizard of Oz at the Arsht Center. This story has a big place in my heart. I am a loser with wizard of Oz Christmas tree. Every year Hallmark comes out with a new Wizard of Oz Ornament, and you better believe my Grandma gets me that shit every year. So among the lights and tinsel hand the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda, battling for the best tree space.The story itself never gets old, I mean who doesnt love flying monkies. And without a doubt every time it rains my mom goes"Im melting, Im melting!"

In the fore front, I have had plenty of time to blog, and I mean plenty, but no motivation.

Despite the seemingly boring job description... working at New Times is probably one of the best jobs in the city.
Not only do I find time to blog, read gossip magazines and pick out recipes for the week but I get to have all the perks of my job
including tickets to free concerts, free shit all the time and today we got to have our own personal Editorial Staff whiskey tasting from Bushmills Whiskey!
Although I am not a whiskey drinker normally of course I participated! (Hello it's free booze) The irish host not only provided a deeper insight into the making of whiskey, the distillery has been in operation for 400 years, but gave life to the drink of choice for so many alcoholics. ( i must mention at this point, I am having a very hard time typing this post, the keys on my keyboard dont seem to be in their correct place!)...I enjoyed the drink that had been distilled for about 21 years, which is funny because was beginning its life as I was mine.weird.
I will conclude this post now. I am tipsy.

I know Im not considered a fan of them but this video is awesome

I think it is smart, and creative and speaks about the meaning of the song and not necessarly in a literal way. Music videos in general are hard to find, especially ones that make you go "Shit!" I mean other than when u say it cause dat hoes got an ass like a truck truck (guys like what what what, baby move your butt butt butt)... but i digress.

I know that this is show is talked about everywhere and I wanted to throw it down on my blog that I think this is one of the smartest shows on television, not to mention the visual appeal of the show overall. Do not mistake that for me saying the "cast is hot" or something. While they are an attractive bunch, the setting of the show, from the office to the homes is so fun to just enjoy with your eyes. The patterns of the curtains, and I personally am especially fond of the paintings in the conference room are something that make it more than just a show about people. It really does represent a place in time in which design and modern ideas of aesthetics changed and is now known as "retro".

The character of Don Draper is someone to be admired and respected. It is hard to find television characters who fit such a drastic human mold. His commanding presence in the work place, and sense of creative dignity is something that I aspire to attain in my career. The problems seem real, without being over dramatized which is rare

in television today.

While all creative thought was seemingly being drowned by reality television MAD MEN brings back the talent and ideas that make television worth wasting my time on.

Grease is quite possibly one of my all time favorite flicks. It has all the elements of a great movie:

1. Car races

2. Cute girls and guys

3. the notorious bad girl who has a pregnancy scare

4. not to mention a dancing john travolta..pre scientology

5. hello it's a musical

My favorite scene in the movie is when they are having the dance off and olivia newton john, aka the heroine Sandy, is cast off of Danny's arm and replaced by the over the top spaniard, appropriately named Cha Cha. What a bitch! Of course Sandy gives a pouty look and storms out, lucky for old John Travolta this aussie is a forgiving one and ends up with him by the end of the movie!

Maybe the reason i love Grease so much is because I watched it maybe over 10,000 times at my grandma's house after middle school. Just watching it makes u think high school is so freakin cool, and man did I want to be Rizzo, bitch in a satin jacket!

I had a great dream the other night. Here's the background
Ive traveled back in time to NYC in what seemed like the late 50s, but it was so surreal, like something out of pleasant ville, women wearing pill box hats and tweed. I was standing in Manhattan, which happened to look like and old ad, that color pencil like texture, as a bus drives by that says "Telluride, Everyone be nice" and it's filled with people from Telluride coming to the city to go shopping etc.
So the action part of the dream consisted of me shopping in an antique type store but it had things such as magnets of sneakers that said Reebok, and really cool shoes and clothes. As I'm buying these clothes the women are looking at me like Im insane! So i keep telling them "No believe me this is gonna be the hottest thing in like 20 years" they were all confused by my fashion aesthetic, so i kept telling them "IM THE NEW COCO CHANEL"...

it was a fun and rather random dream, not to mention if i did travel back in time I would definitely go shopping and bring back the hottest kicks and outfits for the future whitney.
